Have you always wanted to learn how to crochet? Has it been a while and you need a refresher course? Are there new techniques you are hoping to master? Well, if you answer yes to any of these questions, Jean’s Closet will get you closer to your goals. We invite you to take a class with our expert instructor, Jean Smith, who will provide you with the help you need to explore new skills and come away with a sense of accomplishment at our crochet workshops.

- *Beginners classes are for first time crocheters or those who have forgotten the basic stitches and need a refresher’s course. These classes run for six weeks, and two hours per session ($240.00 for the six sessions).
- *New Technique classes are for those who are intermediate crocheters, or who has completed the basic course, and want to learn new techniques. These classes are two 2-hour sessions and cost $80.00.
Payments for workshops are due at time of registration. All materials for classes must be purchased in store before classes begin.

BEGINNING KNITTING 1
This class is design for beginners or for those who have not knitted in a while and need a little help to get back on track. In this class you will learn knitting basics. We will talk about yarn weights and their different uses, which knitting needles to use, and stitch up some projects together.
The class will be tailored to meet your knitting skill level so that you leave each class excited about what you have learned.
Classes are held on Fridays 12:00 – 2:00 pm, and Saturdays 11:00 – 1:00 pm (by appointment only).
Cost: $40.00 for a two-hour session (plus cost of materials; yarn and knitting needles. We recommend that beginners sign up for the six-session workshop to get the maximum benefit (6-session workshop cost $240.00).

All workshops and craft parties are two hours long and children will take home all finished projects.

WOOD PAINTING
In this workshop children will assemble and paint model wood constructions (such as model airplanes, ships, trains, treasure boxes, etc.). They will explore color schemes, shapes, texture, and use their creative skills to complete project. Children take home finished project. This workshop is for children 8+. Cost: $60.00.
CANVAS PAINTING
In this workshop children will use acrylic paint on pre-printed canvas. They will use their creative skills to explore color, texture, and lines. The cost of this workshop is $50.00. For children 5+.
For the advance painters they will be given a blank canvas to create their own masterpiece with the direction from a skilled painter. This workshop is for children 8 years and older. The cost of this workshop is $75.00.
Children will take home all finished projects.
HAND SEWING
In the past both boys and girls were expected to learn how to sew. Today this is not considered a basic skill. In this workshop children will learn basic hand stitch technique. They will learn to apply these stitches to felt fabric, learn to cross stitch, make yo yo flowers, and make simple embroidery stitches on pre-printed fabric. This workshop is for children 8 years and older. All materials used are safe for this age group. The cost of this workshop is $50.00.
BASIC CROCHET FOR KIDS
In this workshop children will be given an introduction to the crochet craft. They will learn the tools that are used in the craft (hooks, yarns, etc.), and the basic crochet chain stitch. They will work on a simple chain stitch project to take home. This workshop is $50.00 plus materials. For children 8+ years.
CRAFT BIRTHDAY PARTIES (2 hours)
This is a great way for the birthday boy or girl to grab a few friends and work on a craft project together and have fun. They can choose from any one of the above workshops. These parties are booked on availability. Maximum number is eight (8 kids). No food is provided. Parents can bring their own cake. Paper products are provided (cups, plates, forks, etc.) The cost is $300.00.
